activities to improve your child's motor skill

Encouraging your child to do simple physical activity is an excellent way to enhance physical growth as well as improve the functional use of hands and legs. Make your child do daily activities like tying shoe laces, buckling up belts and unbuckling them, zipping up and down, buttoning and unbuttoning clothes, picking up objects, holding them and squeezing them, using scissors, turning book pages, gripping pencils, drawing, coloring, clay modelling using clay or dough, screwing, unscrewing and many other similar activities that involves the hand, fingers and eyes, as these activities will improve hand and eye co-ordination as well. It is important to start these activities as soon as your child is able to toddle around, as these muscles are going to be used for the entire period of his life.
